AI phone answering / by Toughjobs

Stay on the job.
Keep the conversation.

An AI receptionist designed for trade businesses: welcome callers, gather the right job details, and get the conversation to the person who can help. Less phone tag while your crew is working.

Built around the work.
Not another thing to manage.

For trade & home-service businesses
Availability: In development. Conversational voice answering and live telephone routing are not yet verified for client rollout. Ask us to demonstrate the current build and agree on a pilot before changing your business phone setup.
The problem it solves

Your next customer should not have to compete with the job in front of you.

When you are under a sink, on a roof, or driving between calls, answering the phone is not always possible. Raven is being built to give routine inquiries a consistent first conversation instead of leaving your office to reconstruct a voicemail later.

A good fit for

Owner-operated shops, small offices, and teams planning overflow or after-hours call coverage.

The workflow

Where Raven earns its place.

  1. Set the rules

Define your services, real service area, operating hours, approved answers, and who takes over when a conversation needs a person.

  2. Capture the request

The intended call flow gathers a name, callback number, location, service needed, and urgency without inventing a price or appointment.

  3. Hand off clearly

A structured summary gives the office the context to call back. Urgent, sensitive, or uncertain requests follow your agreed escalation rules.

What to confirm before setup: Booking, CRM writeback, call transfer, recording, and 24/7 coverage require separately confirmed capabilities and provider setup. Raven is not an emergency service and must not replace emergency instructions.

An example, not a customer claim

A homeowner calls while the crew is on a ladder.

Illustrative workflow: an electrician cannot answer during an installation. Raven's intended flow asks what the homeowner needs and where, then prepares a callback summary. The office reviews the request and confirms availability. No appointment is promised until a real slot is confirmed.

The practical benefit

A clearer first contact and a useful next action, rather than a callback with no context.

Part of your marketing process

A useful tool.
Not an isolated purchase.

Compare unanswered inquiries, complete intake records, time to human follow-up, and qualified appointments. Call volume alone is not a business result.

Coyote by Toughjobs →Use Coyote for text and web inquiries; Raven is the voice side. Workhorse by Toughjobs →Plan how approved intake reaches your customer and job records.

These are complementary roles, not a claim that automatic integrations are already active. Connections are scoped and tested separately.

Straight answers

Before you put it to work.

Does Raven actually talk with callers?

That is the product direction: conversational AI, not just a voicemail inbox. The live voice runtime is still being developed and must pass a scoped pilot before it is offered as working coverage.

Can it quote prices or book jobs?

Only when those capabilities are explicitly implemented, approved, and tested for your business. The safe starting point is gathering details and handing them to your team.

Will I need a new business phone number?

We review your existing number and provider first. Any forwarding, new number, carrier fees, recording notices, and fallback routing are agreed before activation.
