Marketing
built
for the
trades.
We build websites, run ads, and design wraps for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing contractors, and anybody else in the home services trades. We service the Quad Cities, Dubuque, Peoria and anywhere under 3 hours away. We speak job-site, not boardroom. And we measure success in booked jobs, not impressions.
The kid who
wouldn't stop
asking questions.

Help the businesses that keep our communities running become the businesses everyone remembers. Because when local contractors succeed, families thrive, employees build better lives, and communities grow stronger. That's a mission worth showing up for every single day.
Growing up, I was always fascinated by people who worked with their hands. Whether it was a carpenter framing a new home, a landscaper transforming a backyard, or an HVAC technician bringing air conditioning back on the hottest day of summer, I couldn't help but watch. I wasn't the kid glued to a screen — I was the kid asking questions.
I remember standing beside my dad while a service technician worked on our home. I'd ask question after question until my dad would finally smile and tell me, "Quit bothering the poor guy and let him work." Looking back, I wasn't bothering them — I genuinely admired what they did. Blue-collar professionals didn't just have jobs, they solved problems. They built our homes, fixed what was broken, kept families comfortable, and took pride in doing honest work. That left a lasting impression on me.
Like many people, my career took me in a different direction. I moved to California and built a career in corporate America — chasing promotions, raises, and the next opportunity. I gained invaluable experience in marketing, branding, sales, and business strategy, but after years of climbing the corporate ladder, something never felt quite right. Success wasn't just about a bigger paycheck anymore.
My wife and I made the decision to return to the Midwest to raise our growing family. For a season, I stepped away from building a business full-time to focus on being the husband and father I wanted to be. Those years gave me something no job title ever could — perspective. As my daughter grew more independent, I knew it was time to build something again. But this time, I wanted my work to mean more than helping another corporation increase quarterly profits. I wanted to help the people I'd admired since I was a kid.
As I re-entered the marketing world, I met designers, developers, AI engineers, SEO specialists, and business strategists who felt exactly the same way. We all believed home service companies deserve better. Too many exceptional contractors are held back by outdated websites, weak branding, poor local SEO, and agencies that simply don't understand how the trades operate. That's why we built Toughjobs.
Today, our team specializes exclusively in helping home service businesses grow — through high-performing websites, local SEO, branding, paid advertising, AI automation, and business systems designed specifically for the trades. We aren't interested in buzzwords or vanity metrics. We care about ringing phones, qualified leads, booked jobs, stronger reputations, and helping honest businesses become the first company people think of when they need a pro.
I grew up in a few different towns — Dubuque, Iowa; Portage, Wisconsin; the Quad Cities — mostly because my father was a locomotive engineer and we moved to where the work was. I now proudly call Peoria, Illinois home. Those communities taught me values that still guide Toughjobs today: work hard, keep your word, treat people fairly, and stand behind everything you build. That's why you'll never find us spending your marketing budget on an expensive office just to impress clients — we'd rather invest in talented people, better technology, and strategies that deliver measurable results.
If the phone doesn't ring, we didn't do our job.
Most agencies sell you a website and disappear. We treat every project like it's ours — because if your trucks aren't full, our work failed. Simple as that.
That means: We want your analytics access, your honest feedback, and your business goals. We'll share detailed reporting on every dollar spent and every lead generated. Quick approvals keep campaigns fresh. Your authentic photos and videos make our work real. That's partnership.

We could serve anyone. We choose the trades.
Measurable Outcomes
Trades businesses live or die by job count. No vanity metrics. No fluff. Just ROI we can calculate to the penny.
Local Dominance
A 40-mile service radius means we can actually own the map. We're not fighting for national keywords — we're winning Peoria.
Repeat Revenue Potential
HVAC maintenance contracts. Electrical service plans. Plumbing subscriptions. Trades businesses have built-in recurring revenue models we can amplify.
High-Margin Services
Panel upgrades, mini-split installs, water heater replacements — Larger service and installation jobs need clear scope, qualified leads, and tracking that follows the inquiry through the estimate.
Questions we get asked before every handshake
Do you only work with trades?
Yes. Electricians, HVAC, plumbers, roofers, concrete crews, contractors. We turned down the boutiques and the SaaS startups because a shop that understands one industry cold beats a shop that understands forty of them halfway.
How fast do results show up?
Paid search can fill a calendar inside two weeks. Local SEO compounds over three to six months and keeps paying long after the invoice clears. We run both so the schedule never has a dead window while the organic side builds.
What does it actually cost?
Depends on market size and how many trucks you are trying to keep busy. We quote a flat monthly number after a free assessment — no percentage-of-spend games, no surprise line items, no twelve-month handcuffs.
Who owns the website and the data?
You do. Domain, hosting, analytics, ad accounts, call records — all in your name from day one. If we ever part ways you walk out with every asset intact. That is not a courtesy, it is the only honest way to do this.
What do you need from me?
About an hour a month and someone who answers the phone. We handle strategy, build, and reporting. You handle the work your customers are calling about — that division of labor is the whole point.
