Branding FAQs

Pricing & Costs

How much do professional branding services cost?

Logo Design (standalone) runs $1,500–$3,500. A full Brand Identity Package runs $4,500–$9,000. Vehicle Wrap Design runs $800–$2,500 per vehicle. A Brand Guidelines Document runs $1,500–$3,500. A full rebrand for an established company runs $12,000–$25,000+.

What factors determine the cost of a branding project?

Scope drives it — a standalone logo costs less than a full identity package, and a full rebrand (web refresh, uniform and signage rollout, fleet rewrap phasing) costs more than any single piece on its own.

Do you offer branding packages for different business stages?

Yes — from a standalone logo for a new business up through a full rebrand for an established company with an existing fleet and signage to phase out.

Are logo design, messaging, guidelines, and brand assets included?

It depends on the package. The Brand Identity Package bundles the full logo system, color palette, typography, and basic stationery. A written Brand Guidelines Document is priced separately if you just need the standards doc.

Service Areas

Where do you provide branding services?

Toughjobs builds branding programs for trade contractors across the Midwest.

Timeline & Completion

How long does a full brand identity project take?

Four to eight weeks for a standard identity package, longer if vehicle wraps and a website rebuild are in scope. The bottleneck is usually decision-making on your end, not design time.

How soon can you begin?

Most brand projects kick off within 1–2 weeks of signing. Exact start date depends on current workload — we will give you a real date on the strategy call, not a placeholder.*

* Estimated. Current workload and holiday scheduling can shift these dates — we'll confirm exact timing on your call.

Getting Started

How do I get started with a branding project?

Talk to us about your market — no pitch, just a straight read on what would actually move the needle for your business.

Can you help a new business create its brand from the ground up?

Yes — a standalone logo or a full Brand Identity Package both work as a starting point for a business with no existing brand.

How do I know whether I need a new logo, a brand refresh, or a full rebrand?

It depends on what's already working. Some companies need a new identity; others need better versions, spacing, colors, type, and production files. We review what can be kept before recommending a complete replacement.

What's Included

Can't I just have someone on Fiverr make a logo?

You can, and a lot of contractors do — then they spend the next three years paying wrap shops and printers to fix files that don't work at scale or don't come with the source formats they need. Cheap logos are expensive by year two.

Does branding include more than a logo?

Yes. A full system covers the logo and mark (primary lockup, simplified icon, horizontal and stacked layouts, single-color versions for embroidery and vinyl), color and typography standards, and the applied brand across vehicles, uniforms, print, and web.

Will you develop brand positioning, messaging, voice, and visual identity?

The core deliverable is the visual system — logo, color, typography, and applied standards. Messaging and positioning work is scoped alongside it as needed for the project.

Will I receive a brand style guide?

Yes, as its own deliverable ($1,500–$3,500) or bundled — a written standards document covering logo usage, color specs, typography, and vehicle and uniform application rules.

Are business cards, social graphics, website assets, or print materials included?

Basic stationery (business card, letterhead, invoice template) is included in the Brand Identity Package. Broader print and web rollout is scoped as part of a full rebrand.

Will you create alternate logo versions and responsive logo formats?

Yes — a primary lockup, a simplified monogram or icon for tight spaces, horizontal and stacked layouts, and clean single-color versions for embroidery, vinyl, and print are standard parts of the logo system.

Who It's For

Do I really need a brand if I get most of my work from referrals?

Referrals still Google you before they call. A weak or inconsistent brand makes a referred lead second-guess the recommendation, and it caps how much you can charge. Strong branding is what lets you raise prices without losing the referral pipeline.

What types of businesses do you provide branding for?

Trade contractors — the portfolio and process are built around real-world constraints like vinyl, embroidery thread counts, sun-faded colors, and one-color yard signs, not tech startups and coffee shops.

Can you help a business whose current branding is inconsistent or outdated?

Yes — three logo versions, four color shades, and mismatched fonts across estimates and yard signs is exactly the problem a brand standards project fixes.

Our Process

How do you research my audience, market, and competitors?

The starting point is what the homeowner sees in the first three seconds at the door — the truck, the logo on the shirt, the paperwork in the tech's hand — and what your fleet and touchpoints are communicating today versus what they should.

How do you make sure the final brand works across digital and printed materials?

Standards are built around real production constraints — vinyl, embroidery, one-color printing — from the start, and deliverables include vector source files (AI, EPS, SVG) plus PNG and JPG exports, not just flattened images.

Requirements & Preparation

What existing logos, content, research, or examples should I provide?

Bring the current logo, truck photos, and examples of where the brand fails or looks inconsistent — that's what a brand review is built around.

Customization & Options

What if I already have a logo but everything else is a mess?

That's the most common situation. We can build the color system, typography, standards doc, and applied templates around your existing mark — or clean up the logo first if it's holding the rest back. We'll tell you straight which one you need.

Can you preserve recognizable elements of my current brand?

Yes. If you already have a logo but everything else is a mess, we can build the color system, typography, standards doc, and applied templates around your existing mark, or clean up the logo first if it's holding the rest back — we'll tell you straight which one you need.

Can you develop names, taglines, color palettes, typography, icons, and imagery?

Color palette, typography, and the full mark system are core deliverables. Naming and tagline work is scoped as needed for the project.

Can branding be coordinated with my website, social media, apparel, and print materials?

Yes — that's the point of the applied-brand phase: vehicle wraps, uniform specs, yard signs, door hangers, invoice templates, and a website that all match, coordinated with your wrap shop, printer, and sign vendor rather than handed off separately.

Revisions & Changes

What happens if stakeholders disagree about a concept?

A clear revision process and timeline should be part of the agreement up front — that's one of the things we hold ourselves to, not an open-ended "we'll get to it."

Results & Expectations

Should every truck in my fleet look identical?

Yes. Fleet consistency is how you multiply impressions — a homeowner who sees three of your trucks around town this week assumes you're the biggest outfit in the region, even if you only run five vehicles.

How will you make my brand distinctive without copying competitors?

By building around real-world trade constraints most designers ignore — a logo has to read clearly on a truck at 40 mph and at postage-stamp size on a business card, which naturally forces a cleaner, more distinctive mark than a generic template.

Ownership & Access

Will I own the final logo and brand assets?

Yes — deliverables include vector source files (AI, EPS, SVG) plus PNG and JPG exports, not just flattened images you can't edit.

Will I receive editable source files as well as ready-to-use files?

Yes — vector source files (AI, EPS, SVG) ship alongside PNG and JPG exports.

Can Toughjobs display the work in its portfolio?

That's confirmed per client rather than assumed — ask when you scope the project.

Contact & Next Steps

How can I request a branding quote or consultation?

Reach out through the contact page for a straight read on your market and what a project would actually cost and cover.

File Formats & Usage Rights

Which logo and brand file formats will I receive?

Vector source files (AI, EPS, SVG) plus PNG and JPG exports, and single-color versions for embroidery, vinyl, and print.

Will the brand guide explain how each asset should be used?

Yes — the Brand Guidelines Document covers logo usage, color specs (hex, CMYK, Pantone, and vinyl match codes), typography, and vehicle and uniform application rules.
